Complete Dental Care With Dr. Tarabin

For a Beautiful Smile

When you visit Dr. Tarabin at Alpine Dental Center for a checkup, you’ll receive preventive care and a professional cleaning to keep your smile fresh, healthy, and shining bright.

If you brush and floss your teeth every day, good for you. You’re removing dangerous plaque and bacteria that could hurt your smile.

There are some patients who take good care of their teeth at home but they avoid their regular dental appointments. Unfortunately, these patients are missing out on essential care that they won’t be able to get on their own.

Professional Dental Cleaning

Tooth decay and gum disease are bacterial infections. The bacteria that cause these dental infections survive by consuming plaque, tartar, and debris in your mouth. During your professional dental cleaning, we’ll protect your smile by thoroughly removing these hazards.

Having a clean smile reduces your risk for cavities, gum disease, tooth loss, and other complications. We’ll complete your professional cleaning by polishing your smile, which has the added bonus of making it more difficult for dangerous bacteria to penetrate the surface of your teeth and cause cavities.

Preventative Care

Regular professional cleanings will dramatically improve your oral health, helping your smile last a lifetime. During your checkup, we also provide advanced diagnostic care as well as habit counseling for our younger patients.

We’ll take a complete set of x-rays to get a good picture of your whole mouth and identify any potential issues before they can develop into something more severe. For your safety, we use advanced digital x-rays at our practice which emit up to 90% less radiation than other types of x-rays.

We begin treating patients at age three so your kids can keep their smiles healthy for years to come. The key to healthy teeth is effective oral hygiene habits — that’s why we’re happy to help your child develop good habits as early as possible.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Over fifty thousand Americans contract oral cancer every year. That’s why our dental examinations always include an oral cancer screening. The earlier we detect this dangerous disease, the easier it is to treat effectively.

Unfortunately, signs of oral cancer can easily go unnoticed without regular professional check-ups. It’s also helpful to be aware of the early indications of oral cancer. If you notice any of the following symptoms, contact Dr. Tarabin immediately:

  • Red or white lesions
  • Lumps in your throat
  • Prolonged sore throat or hoarse voice
  • Loose teeth
  • Trouble moving your jaw and tongue
  • Thickened tissue in your mouth and tongue

Periodontal (Gum) Treatment

Also known as gum disease, periodontal disease is a serious infection that damages your gum tissue. Without treatment, it can eventually destroy your jawbone, resulting in tooth loss, cardiovascular issues, and a number of other significant health issues. Unfortunately, it’s estimated that nearly half of American adults suffer from periodontal disease.

A major cause of gum disease is built-up tartar, the hardened plaque that sticks to your teeth. That’s because tartar feeds the bacteria that cause this infection. Fortunately, you can protect yourself from tartar build-up with daily brushing and flossing combined with regular professional cleanings at Alpine Dental Center.

Untreated gum disease leads to soreness, bleeding, bad breath, and eventually, the loss of teeth. Fortunately, Dr. Tarabin offers effective treatments for all stages of gum disease, including deep cleaning to remove plaque and hardened tartar from your teeth. If gum disease goes untreated for an extended period of time, Dr. Tarabin may recommend periodontal surgery.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth-Colored Fillings

A cavity is a hollow area in the tooth caused by decay — it’s one of the most common dental issues we encounter during checkups. The good news is that we feature tooth-colored composite fillings to restore your tooth without leaving a trace.

For larger cavities, Dr. Tarabin might elect to use an onlay or an inlay, which are designed to restore the damage that occurs between the cusps of a tooth. All of our onlays and inlays are specially made to match the color and contours of your smile.

When a tooth is extensively damaged by trauma or decay, we can often save it using a dental crown. A dental crown is a cap that Dr. Tarabin attaches to the top of a tooth using strong dental adhesive. This treatment will repair the look and function of the tooth.
